# LLMention > LLMention is a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) scanner. It audits whether > AI search engines and LLM crawlers can access, parse and cite a website, and it > generates the /llms.txt context file that those crawlers read. LLMention is a free web tool for developers, SEO teams and marketing teams who need to know whether their site is readable by generative search engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. It reports crawl blocks, missing context files and structural issues that stop a page from being quoted in an AI-generated answer, and produces a shareable readiness score. ## Core capabilities - [AI Crawler Passability](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/): Scans robots.txt and WAF rules to verify that GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Bytespider and other AI crawler user-agents are not blocked. - [llms.txt Studio](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/llms-txt-studio/): Generates a standardized markdown context file so LLMs can digest a domain's content cleanly, ready to deploy at the domain root. - [Readiness Badge](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/readiness-badge/): Produces an embeddable real-time GEO readiness badge for GitHub READMEs and site footers. ## Documentation - [Methodology](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/methodology/): The complete scoring method - twelve weighted dimensions, every check with its exact rule, the A-F grade bands, the primary research behind the weighting, and a statement of what the score cannot tell you. Generated from the same data the analyser runs on. - [GEO knowledge hub](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/docs/): Index of all guides. - [How to generate and deploy an llms.txt file](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/docs/llms-txt-deployment/): File format, hosting location, verification steps, and an honest assessment of what llms.txt does and does not do for AI visibility. - [Configuring robots.txt and WAF for GPTBot and PerplexityBot](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/docs/allow-ai-crawlers/): Which user-agents AI search engines send, and how to stop a firewall from silently returning 403 to them. - [Optimizing headings for direct AI citation](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/docs/qa-style-headings/): Rewriting H2 and H3 headings as real questions and pairing them with answer-first paragraphs. - [Implementing Schema.org JSON-LD for entity disambiguation](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/docs/schema-org-jsonld/): Connecting Organization, WebSite and SoftwareApplication nodes into one entity. ## Company - [About](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/about/): Who maintains the tool, what it deliberately does not do, and how to report a result you believe is wrong. - [Study](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/study/): First-party measurements over 30 major homepages, published with the sample and the date they were taken. - [Pricing](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/pricing/): The scanner is free and needs no account; the paid option is a one-time manual audit. - [Refund policy](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/refund/): When a manual audit is refunded, how to ask for it, and how long it takes. ## Contact and legal - [Contact](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/contact/): One email address for score corrections, audit requests and data requests. - [Privacy policy](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/privacy/): What a scan processes, what the server logs contain, how advertising cookies are handled, and how to exercise your data rights. - [Terms of service](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/terms/): What is promised, what is not, and what you may and may not scan. - [Right of withdrawal](https://geo-scanner.ccie13192.com/withdrawal/): The statutory 14-day withdrawal notice for consumers in the EU and the UK, with the model form. ## Supported AI crawlers GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User (OpenAI); ClaudeBot, Claude-User, Claude-SearchBot, anthropic-ai (Anthropic); PerplexityBot, Perplexity-User (Perplexity); Google-Extended (Google); Applebot-Extended (Apple); Bytespider (ByteDance); CCBot (Common Crawl); meta-externalagent (Meta). ## Notes - The scanner and the llms.txt generator are free and do not require an account. - Scan result pages under /report/ are generated per request and are excluded from search indexing via robots.txt. - The tool is operated by the LLMention team, reachable at alex.xu@ccie13192.com.
